2024 Emmys: Saoirse Ronan and Jack Lowden Make Red Carpet Debut as Married Couple

It's an award-worthy night at the 2024 Emmys for Jack Lowden.
The Slow Horses actor arrived at Los Angeles' Peacock Theater Sept. 15 with wife Saoirse Ronan, marking their first red carpet appearance as a married couple. (See all the stars on the red carpet here.)
Lowden, who portrays River Cartwright in the AppleTV+ series, is nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series against Tadanobu Asano (Shogun), Billy Crudup (The Morning Show), Mark Duplass (The Morning Show), Jon Hamm (The Morning Show), Takehiro Hira (Shogun) and Jonathan Pryce (The Crown).
This marks another milestone for Lowden, as it's his first-ever Emmy nomination.
Indeed, it's been a major year for the 34-year-old, who tied the knot with Ronan earlier this summer. According to The Independent, citing the Irish Independent, they wed in an intimate ceremony in July with only a few loved ones present.
Lowden and Ronan first sparked romance rumors after working together on the 2018 film Mary Queen of Scots.
And while the two have kept much of their relationship private, Lowden couldn't help but gush over Ronan's performance in 2024's The Outrun, which he helped produce.
“My first love is actors,” he told i Newspaper last year. “And when you’re given a Ferrari like her, it’s all about how you make everything good for the Ferrari to show off. Don’t make a Ferrari do what a Renault Clio does. It’s a dreadful analogy but they’re like gold dust, good actors. When there’s someone like that, you just have to facilitate them and you will get gold. And my God, did we.”
As for how he and Ronan, 30, navigate public interest in their romance?
“I’m not an idiot,” Lowden said. “Her and I don’t find that odd. We’re hugely appreciative of the level of scrutiny we have....We’re treated well but we don’t seek it either."
"People have got it far worse," he added. "It’s also obviously of our own making. Whatever – as long as we’ve got each other, we’re alright with any of that.”
